The hourly rate is based on cost of living within the assigned territory as well as previous experience and certifications. The pay range for this role is based on experience, certifications, and leadership background. With overtime and emergency response opportunities, motivated team members can earn an additional $3,000–$10,000 annually in overtime pay.

Position Summary

The Lead Emergency Services Technician plays a critical leadership role within the mitigation and restoration department, overseeing technicians in the field while actively participating in water mitigation, mold remediation, structural drying, demolition, and emergency response services.

This role is responsible for helping manage day-to-day job site operations, ensuring work is completed according to IICRC standards and company procedures, maintaining quality and safety standards, and supporting technicians through leadership and training in the field.

This is a hands-on leadership role — not a desk position. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading crews while actively working alongside the team during emergency response and mitigation projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage small or large mitigation teams safely and effectively throughout restoration projects
  • Respond to emergency losses involving water, mold, fire, storm, and other property damage
  • Perform and oversee water mitigation services according to IICRC standards and Rainbow processes
  • Become proficient in and help train technicians on structural drying, mold remediation, containment setup, demolition, and disaster cleanup
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge regarding restoration procedures and mitigation best practices
  • Operate restoration equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, extraction units, moisture meters, and HEPA filtration systems
  • Perform moisture mapping, job scoping, equipment calculations, photos, and required documentation for projects
  • Monitor drying progress and maintain accurate moisture documentation and equipment tracking
  • Establish and maintain schedules to ensure services are delivered efficiently and on time
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding scope of work, expectations, timelines, and documentation
  • Maintain accurate job documentation including notes, photos, sketches, moisture logs, and equipment counts
  • Identify safety hazards, communicate risks, and establish measures to ensure the safety of occupants, technicians, and job sites
  • Prepare rooms and work areas for mitigation activities including containment setup, staging areas, and equipment placement
  • Inventory and load vehicles with equipment, products, and supplies needed for projects
  • Ensure job sites remain clean, safe, organized, and compliant with OSHA standards and company procedures
  • Support quality control efforts and ensure technicians are following proper restoration processes, PPE requirements, and hazardous material handling guidelines
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and restoration equipment to ensure operational readiness
  • Assist with on-the-job training, mentorship, and development of technicians
  • Participate in emergency on-call rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands require
  • Travel throughout the state with potential overnight stays when needed to support operations
  • Cross-train in related restoration services including contents cleaning, carpet cleaning, and reconstruction support
  • Perform additional operational duties and emergency response tasks as assigned

Requirements & Skills

  • Direct restoration experience required
  • IICRC Certifications preferred including WRT, ASD, and/or AMRT
  • Strong understanding of water mitigation, structural drying, and mold remediation processes
  • Leadership, crew lead, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Commitment to excellent customer service, attention to detail, and technical quality standards
  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get dirty
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Ability to lead by example and support technicians in fast-paced environments
  • Comfortable working in emergency response situations and changing conditions
  • Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a team
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the Restoration Industry
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug test and extensive background screening
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Comfortable standing, walking, climbing, bending, and working at elevated heights or in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics while wearing PPE
  • Comfortable working around demolition debris, moisture-damaged materials, and varying environmental conditions
  • Ability to work overtime, participate in on-call rotations, and travel statewide as needed
