Mitigation Lead Technician

Rainbow Restoration of Chesapeake is looking for an experienced Mitigation Lead Technician who knows how to get the work done right while helping lead the technicians working alongside them.

This is a hands-on field leadership position. You will work directly on water damage, mold remediation, and other emergency restoration projects while helping make sure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

What You'll Do

As a Mitigation Lead Technician, you will:

  • Lead technicians on water mitigation, mold, and other emergency remediation projects
  • Perform water extraction, demolition, cleaning, drying, and equipment setup
  • Take and document moisture readings, atmospheric readings, and drying progress
  • Set up containment and follow appropriate safety protocols
  • Perform moisture mapping and help determine affected areas
  • Take clear jobsite photos and videos
  • Complete required field documentation and job notes
  • Ensure equipment is properly placed, monitored, cleaned, and accounted for
  • Communicate job progress and concerns to the Project Manager/Division Manager
  • Help technicians understand what needs to be done and why
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites
  • Provide respectful and professional service to customers during stressful situations
  • Participate in the division's emergency/on-call rotation

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has restoration, water mitigation, mold remediation, construction, or related field experience
  • Is comfortable taking responsibility for a jobsite and directing other technicians
  • Understands the importance of accurate documentation
  • Can follow established procedures and safety requirements
  • Communicates well with customers, coworkers, and management
  • Is dependable and shows up ready to work
  • Can work independently without needing constant supervision
  • Is willing to teach and develop less-experienced technicians
  • Can remain calm and make good decisions when jobs become challenging
  • Is comfortable using mobile apps and technology for job documentation
  • Has a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

IICRC certifications are preferred, but restoration experience, leadership ability, and willingness to learn are equally important.

Schedule

This is a full-time field position.

Restoration is an emergency-service industry, so candidates must understand that some projects require after-hours, weekend, and emergency response work. Lead Technicians participate in the company's on-call rotation.


Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform restoration field work, including lifting and moving equipment and materials, working in residential and commercial environments, climbing stairs and ladders, and working for extended periods while standing, walking, bending, and performing physical tasks.
