Restoration Estimator - Water, Fire, and Mold Remediation

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Desk Estimator to support restoration operations through accurate estimating, estimate auditing, and project support. This role is responsible for preparing timely and profitable estimates for restoration projects while ensuring estimates are properly documented and communicated throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, enthusiastic, and motivated to make a quality difference within our territories while thriving in a fast-paced restoration environment.

This is a fully in-office position based in Chapin, SC. The Desk Estimator role does not conduct on-site inspections or complete field scoping, as all estimating responsibilities are performed within the office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

• Prepare timely, accurate, and profitable job estimates for restoration projects.
• Create estimates using Xactimate, MICA, Fire N Ice, Symbility, and related estimating platforms.
• Review and audit large-loss estimates for accuracy, completeness, and profitability.
• Develop detailed material and equipment lists needed for projects.
• Assist operations teams by ensuring estimates align with project scope and documentation requirements.
• Support overflow estimating needs during peak periods as needed.

Project Support & Communication

• Maintain reports and communicate pertinent updates, issues, or challenges to the VP of Operations.
• Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, and operations teams regarding estimate accuracy and project scope.
• Assist with documentation updates and project-related administrative tasks as assigned.
• Communicate professionally with internal teams, customers, and insurance representatives when needed.

Compliance, Quality & Performance

• Ensure estimates are properly documented and comply with company standards and carrier expectations.
• Maintain attention to detail while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to estimating accuracy and workflow efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Positive attitude with strong empathy and customer service skills.
• Experience with Xactimate required.
• Experience with MICA, Symbility, Alacrity, and T&M billing preferred.
• Large-loss estimating experience from start to finish preferred.
• Experience writing and auditing large and complex restoration estimates.
• Knowledge of water, fire, and mold restoration estimating.
• Restoration industry experience required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Computer proficiency including business software and spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with insurance carrier or TPA estimating workflows.
• Previous experience supporting multiple territories or branches.
• Strong understanding of restoration operations and estimating best practices.
