Rainbow Restoration is a growing restoration platform serving markets throughout South Carolina and Virginia. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team and support the day-to-day accounting needs of our multi-location, multi-entity organization.

This is a hands-on role that will work closely with the Controller and CFO and will take primary ownership of several recurring accounting processes, including payroll processing, account reconciliations, Accounts Receivable, commission calculations, general ledger activity, and month-end close support.

The right person will be organized, dependable, analytical, and comfortable independently managing recurring accounting responsibilities while identifying issues that require additional review.

This is a full-time, on-site position with a salary range of $60,000–$80,000 annually, based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will perform key general accounting functions across multiple companies and locations.

This role will be responsible for payroll processing, accounts receivable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, commission calculations, fixed asset schedules, and assigned month-end close activities.

The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller, who will review and oversee these processes as part of the broader accounting function.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working through detailed accounting processes, solving reconciliation issues, understanding how transactions flow through the financial statements, and taking ownership of recurring accounting responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day general accounting activities across multiple entities and locations
  • Process company payroll, including preparation, balancing, and coordination of payroll-related corrections
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations and research outstanding or unusual reconciling items
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and maintain accurate supporting schedules
  • Manage accounts receivable accounting activities, including invoice creation, customer deposits, unapplied cash, credit balances, retainage, and related reconciliations
  • Prepare recurring and month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll entries, intercompany entries, and other general ledger adjustments
  • Prepare company-wide commission and incentive calculations based on approved compensation plans and supporting operational data
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with audit requests by preparing schedules, reconciliations, samples, and supporting documentation
  • Help improve accounting processes, reconciliations, documentation, and consistency across entities
  • Perform additional and backup support for other accounting functions as needed

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger processes
  • Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close schedules
  • Ability to independently research and resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines across different companies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with accounting leadership and operational teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • A minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience preferred
  • Prior Senior Accountant experience preferred
  • Experience processing payroll preferred
  • Experience with accounts receivable preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred
  • Experience with multi-entity or multi-location accounting preferred
  • Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end close
  • Experience in construction, restoration, service, or another project-based industry is a plus
